IAAF events take place regularly around the world - bringing together the world's best athletes for track and field competitions. LloydBell Productions were commissioned to provide technical and editorial services to the IAAF. They in turn turned to us to supply a producer and engineer for every athletics meeting. We designed a unique technical rig that could fit in to just two peli cases and be transported to stadia in Rome, Paris, Berlin, Stuttgart, Oslo and Osaka. Using a direct data connection from each stadium we were able to stream stunning quality audio to listeners around the world.

To facilitate the need for a compact set of equipment we designed a commentator's box that could be connected to the main mixing console over Cat-5 cable. This equipment provided talkback, muting and headphone controls for each commentator and a control hub for the engineer. Other technical achivements included designing a workflow that allowed broadcast processing, off air recording, streaming, editing and playout functions to operate from just one computer!
